DIVE CONDITIONS

Kalamata Freedivers located in the Marina of Kalamata, directly on the sea front, with an easy entrance to the dive site with unlimited depth, within 5 minutes driving from the shore with a speed boat. The dive centre facilities include a changing area with hot showers and toilets, personal equipment storage and equipment washing and hanging area.

Kalamata is known for its sublime diving conditions: warm water temperature, no current and absolutely no waves. Water temperature on the surface is between 24-28 degrees (in June-November), without pronounced termocline. Gradual temperature decrease after 50m reaches around 17-18 degrees at -100 meters.

Our fleet consists of two boats. The 8m RIB with 250HP engine is used as a main boat and capable of carrying up to 15 divers. On the deck a motorized counter balance system is installed, which is capable of retrieving a diver from depth with a speed of 1.5m/s.

The competition setup with 150m rope is equipped with a depth sonar for monitoring deep dives. We are also using underwater scooter for deep safeties. Oxygen for decompression is available on board.

The second boat is a 5m RIB with 90HP engine, fast and reliable, which is used as an emergency (evacuation) boat. It serves also as a transfer boat, capable of carrying up to 7 divers. Both boats are equipped with first aid kit and emergency O2.

This event is a 6 days depth competition, where you can choose the discipline that you will compete in each of the days (CWT, FIM, CNF, CWTB). Results will be published in the AIDA ranking. Athletes will also recieve awards for successful dives.
